The role
About this job
You build the systems the rest of the work depends on. New-construction installs in custom homes, full system replacements, ductwork and equipment set — done to a standard that holds up at 7,000 feet and looks right when the mechanical-room door is open.
Install work here is craftsmanship, not piecework. Builders and homeowners in this market notice the difference, and so do we.
What you’ll do
- Install furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners and air handlers in new and existing homes
- Set and pipe equipment, run ductwork and make clean, serviceable connections
- Work from mechanical plans on new-construction projects
- Start up, test and commission completed systems
- Coordinate on site with builders and other trades
- Leave every jobsite clean
What you need
- HVAC installation experience (residential and/or light commercial)
- Able to read mechanical plans and lay out a system
- Sheet metal and ductwork skills
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Pride in work that is going to be looked at
Nice to have
- New-construction / custom-home experience
- Hydronic piping or radiant install experience
- EPA 608 certification
Don’t tick every box? Apply anyway. We would rather teach the right person than wait for a perfect one.
What you get
Why work at Eastin Mechanical
Year-round work
Boilers, radiant and snowmelt carry the winter; new-construction installs and cooling carry the summer. This is not seasonal resort work — the schedule does not disappear in the shoulder season.
Based in Kamas — no commute over the pass
We work out of Kamas and serve the Wasatch Back. If you live in the Kamas Valley, Heber or Oakley, you are already here — no I-80 canyon crawl and no driving in from the valley every morning.
Work you can be proud of
Custom mountain homes, done to a standard that holds up at altitude. Our work gets looked at — by homeowners, by builders, and by whoever opens the mechanical-room door next.
A small crew, not a call center
You work directly with the owner. Decisions get made in the field by the person doing the work, and good work is noticed by the people who can do something about it.
Learn systems most techs never touch
Radiant, boilers, snowmelt, zoning and controls. Hydronic skill is scarce and valuable in this valley — the techs who have it are the ones who get called first and paid accordingly.
A real path, apprentice to journeyman
Start as a helper, learn the trade on real jobs, and move up as your skills do. We would rather grow a good technician than keep hiring for the same seat.
